Construction Begins at Diamond Bar High Aquatic Center
The Walnut Valley Unified School District is proud to announce the official Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Diamond Bar High School Denis R. Paul Aquatic Center. Please join us as we celebrate the launching of this important addition to our school community.
Walnut Valley Unified School District’s modernization and construction projects are made possible through voter approval of Bond Measures S and Y, passed in November 2007.
The Walnut Valley Unified School District’s Board of Trustees awarded the contract for the Aquatic Center to Novus Construction at the October 19, 2011 meeting. Novus Construction’s winning bid for the Aquatic Center was $10,748,000.
Last spring Henry Woo Architects met with the Division of State Architects to begin the final approval process for the pool and shade structure. This process continued for several weeks. Four of the five phases were previously completed in preparation for the beginning of construction.
These phases included:
· above ground electrical
· underground utilities
· site preparation
· accessible ramp
· underground gas service
Phase 5 – the construction of the Pool and 2-Story Classroom Building.
This phase of construction has a timeline of 730 Calendar Days (23.5 Months).
