DIAMOND BAR, CA— The curtain comes up Friday night as Diamond Bar High School Drama Department presents a hilarious romp through Neverland in “Peter and the Starcatcher” with 7 p.m. shows on October 25, 26 and November 1, 2.
This Tony-winning musical provides a backstory of how a miserable young orphan ultimately became the legendary Peter Pan.
“Peter and the Starcatcher” was adapted for stage by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Barker, and is based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson.
You’ll see the familiar faces of Captain Hook, Smee, and meet a new crew of pirates and sailors, (even mermaids and mollusks) that bring the magical story to life with creative stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of imagination.
The production, under the direction of drama teacher Jared Kaitz, playfully explores the depths of greed and despair, along with the bonds of friendship, duty, and love.
Tickets are $10 for students and $12 for adults and available at www.seatyourself.biz/dbhsdrama.
Diamond Bar High School Theatre is located at 21400 E. Pathfinder Road in Diamond Bar.
