Eight Walnut Valley USD elementary schools received 2021 California PBIS Coalition Awards for successfully implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

Congratulations to Collegewood, Maple Hill, Westhoff – PLATINUM level, Vejar – SILVER level, and Castle Rock, Cyrus J. Morris, Evergreen, Quail Summit – BRONZE level.

PBIS is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.

Research shows that school climate strongly influences students’ motivation to learn and improve academic achievement.
