Walnut Valley USD Trustees Appoint New Quail Summit Principal

WALNUT, CA— The Walnut Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees appointed a familiar face, Nicole Sevilla Hernandez, as the new principal at Quail Summit Elementary School during the May 18 meeting.

Hernandez, an alumna of Walnut High School, began her professional career in the District serving 11 years as a teacher at Westhoff Elementary, Suzanne Middle School, and Ron Hockwalt Academies.

The motivated and energetic educational leader spent the last nine years as an elementary principal in the Placentia Yorba Linda and Westside Union School Districts.

She has also served as an elementary assistant principal, TOSA for English literacy development, technology, and Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA).

Hernandez holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach and master’s degree from Azusa Pacific University.

"As a product of the great schools in Walnut, I feel lucky to be returning to WVUSD,” Hernandez shared.

 
“I am excited to be joining the esteemed Quail Summit staff and look forward to collaborating with all our educational partners to continue the tradition of excellence and heart."

She succeeds retiring 37-year education veteran Frances Weissenberger who has been at the helm of the school since 2017.
