WALNUT, CA — Walnut Valley Unified School District (WVUSD) announced that nine students from Diamond Bar High School were recently named as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. Daniel Prasetyo, Cody Jung, Ethan Hoen, Nattanicha Chaisakulchai, Audrey Doratan, Amanda Chung, Donson Xie, Matthew Liu, and Jayden Chen were chosen from about 16,000 high school students representing less than 1% of U.S. seniors.
These academically talented Diamond Bar High School seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million that will be offered next spring.
The nine students were among the more than 1.3 million juniors in about 21,000 high schools who entered the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of program entrants.
