Every year, the California School Board Association (CSBA) sponsors approximately 40 principals and master teachers from Shanghai to spend 6 weeks in California school Districts from October 3rd to November 8th 2011.
The purpose of this exchange is to provide Shanghai educators an opportunity to learn about California schools as well as gain an insight into our lives. In return, we learn about China and how they live – their families, education, aspirations for their children.
We need families to host an educator for two weeks. In Walnut Valley, we are looking for 12 families. All you need to do is provide a room and some dinners. Many of the weekends will be planned by the District. Of course, host families are always welcome to join us. We will pick them up in the morning and drop them off in the afternoon. The educators will spend the day and some evenings in our schools. The host family will receive $100 per week, per educator.
If you can help or if you know of someone who can help, please call Nancy Estrada (Educational Services), 909-595-1261, ext. 31393 or email [email protected].
Thank you!
