Walnut Valley Hosts Shanghai Students
Walnut, CA—Last week, the Walnut Valley Unified School District hosted 27 - 5th and 6th grade students from Shanghai, China.
The children spent three days learning American culture and English with Evergreen Elementary School teacher Mrs. Lily Chang.
The classes were held at the WVUSD District Education Center.
The group and their chaperones are in the United States for 16 days visiting New York, Washington D.C., Boston, Philadelphia, and the Grand Canyon.

1. On Thursday, July 7, teacher Mrs. Lily Chang led students in a Jeopardy-style game of with topics “Food, U.S. Symbols, Schools, Superstitions, and Hodgepodge.
2. During the game, students stood and raised plastic cups to answer questions that ranged from 100 to 500 points.
3. Teacher Mrs. Lily Chang led games and activities for the children.
4. Showing how to keep their fingers crossed, the Shanghai students had fun while learning about American culture and English during their visit.
