WVUSD Board Members Elected
Larry Redinger and Phillip Chen
Congratulations to the winners of the November 8 election: Incumbent Larry L. Redinger and newcomer Phillip Chen who will serve four- year terms as Walnut Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees.
With three candidates competing for two school board seats; Challenger Phillip Chen received 42.27% of the vote. Incumbent Larry L. Redinger garnered the second highest number of votes with 37.2 %.
Larry Redinger has been re-elected to serve his sixth term on the board. He is currently the board's clerk and has more than 35 years of experience in the community college system. He is the Dean of Natural Sciences at Mt. San Antonio College. He is a dedicated, proven leader who is focused on continuing his work on behalf of the children in our District.
Phillip Chen is a Health Deputy to County Supervisor Mike Antonovich and a Reserve Deputy for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He wants to seek new funding sources to ensure funding for WVUSD summer school courses in science, math, and English. He also wants to host quarterly Town Hall meetings for administrators and teachers to tell us what they need to help students succeed. He fills the seat vacated by retiring member Carolyn Elfelt.
