WALNUT, CA--Thirty Walnut Valley Unified School District families will receive all the food needed to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving dinner this week.
Decorated boxes brimming with stuffing, canned vegetables, cake mix and brownies, potatoes, rolls and more have been delivered to the WVUSD Board Room.
Community groups, local businesses, WVUSD staff members, and Quail Summit Elementary School brought in the holiday donations:
Boy Scout Troop 789 and Cub Pack 722 donated 100 cans of food.
The Diamond Bar Evangelical Free Church of Diamond Bar brought 30 turkeys.
Walnut’s On A Mission Church donated five boxes of canned food and turkeys.
Quail Summit Elementary School’s Student Council organized a food drive that yielded several boxes of food.
Two Walnut restaurants contributed to the food drive: Carrow’s donated 30 freshly baked pies and Applebee’s donated a gift certificate.
And Girl Scout Troop 2334 Cadettes delivered stuffing and 60 Thanksgiving drawings with holiday wishes to decorate the boxes.
