Walnut Valley to Honor Cornerstone Award Winners

WALNUT, CA--Walnut Valley Unified School District will pay tribute to the 2011 Cornerstone Awards winners on Friday, February 3, 2012 with personal tributes and awards.

The event is sponsored by the WVUSD Personnel Commission and Walnut Valley Educational Foundation.

The Cornerstone Award recognizes an exemplary classified (non-teaching) employee and team player that exhibits extraordinary dedication, enthusiasm, and pride.

The Class Act Cornerstone Awards dinner and ceremony will be held at the Pomona Valley Mining Company beginning at 6 p.m.

The twelve 2011 outstanding classified (non-teaching) employees were nominated by Walnut Valley supervisors and staff members. 

The award nomination form details how they have gone “above and beyond the call of duty” in providing outstanding customer service to the District and community.

The winners are selected by the Personnel Commission and are recognized during the monthly meetings held at the District Office. 
 
Each honoree receives a Certificates of Recognition from the WVUSD Personnel Commission, Assemblyman Curt Hagman, gift cards to local businesses, and a voucher for a paid day off.

The recipients’ co-workers and family members attend these meetings to celebrate as the award is presented.

The District 2011 Classified Employee of the Year will be announced at the culmination of the “Class Act” Cornerstone Awards.
