Westhoff Super Star Student Honored
WALNUT, CA--The Walnut Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees celebrated Westhoff Elementary School 5th grader Andrew Sung as the school’s Super Star during the March 21 meeting.
“It’s my privilege to honor one our Westhoff students who makes our school shine!” said Principal Denise Rendon, who described Andrew as a vivacious kid with a big heart.
“We love him!”
Andrew is part of the school’s Special Education program and has made tremendous growth since kindergarten, she said.
He excels in all areas of school life. He is a boy that loves to learn and works very hard to do well.
“He is kind to his classmates, his teachers, and everyone he meets,” she said. Teachers speak highly of him and students think he is awesome.
Andrew is also a skilled artist and his goal is to become an architect or artist, and of course to be his own boss!
“The reason we elected Andrew for this award is because this young man exemplifies all the things we want of our students – he tries his best and he’s always kind to others along the way. I know that Westhoff is a much better place because of Andrew!” she said.
Andrew made a brief statement during the presentation saying that his caring teachers and friends are the best part of school.
