Board of Trustees Honors Super Star Student
WALNUT, CA—Walnut Valley’s newest star student was announced during the Board Meeting on November 7.
Ron Hockwalt Academies Principal Jose Annicchiarico introduced Jenny Medina as the Super Star of the Independent Study program.
The sophomore received a Certificate of Special Recognition from the Walnut Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees.
“Jenny Medina, AKA ‘Jenny on the Block, is a very quiet and unassuming 10th grade student,” Annicchiarico said.
She travels to Independent Study daily to use the technological Odyssey Program that is integrated with textbooks used by our high schools.
Jenny is a well-rounded student, works at a local restaurant, and volunteers at Walnut Elementary helping teachers, secretaries, and students.
“She is also an avid volleyball and soccer player and we hear that she is very good!” Annicchiarico exclaimed.
“Jenny works hard, and even though some courses have been challenging, she puts in the extra time to succeed. Just like a shooting star – with her wonderful personality and continued family support– Jenny will go a long way,” he said.
