Best of the West Cheer Champions
WALNUT, CA--Diamond Bar and Walnut High School pep teams competed in the 2014 Best of the West Cheer Invitational held at California State University, Long Beach Walter Pyramid on March 16.
Congratulations to both schools who were named champions in their respective divisions.
· Diamond Bar High School Varsity Cheer, Novice division
· Diamond Bar High School Varsity Song in Advanced Pom and 2nd in Advanced Jazz
· Walnut High School Cheer Super Varsity, Novice division
“All teams represented the Walnut Valley Unified School District with their incredible talent, sportsmanship and placement in their divisions,” said DBHS Pep Advisor Whitney Prenger.
"All our hard work and practice really paid off. I'm so proud of our team," said WHS senior Ashley Winters, the varsity captain.
“This was our final competition for the season,” said WHS Pep Advisor Ashley Dompier.
“The girls are extremely excited by the outcomes of our season (3-1st Place, 1 - 2nd- Place, 1- 3rd Place finishes) and are excited to show off their award-winning routine to their peers at the pep rally this week and to incoming freshman at orientation in May,” she said.
Diamond Bar High Cheer and Song will compete at the USA Nationals March 28 in Anaheim.
“With hopes of bringing home a title for their talent, hard work and dedication,” Prenger said.
