Trek to the Top

DIAMOND BAR, CA—Chaparral Middle School teachers and friends hiked to the top of Mt. Baldy on Saturday, May 2.

“We’ve been spending time getting ready with group conditioning hikes, running, triathlons, and walking to get,” said Science Teacher Robert Patterson.

After two months of training, the 12-person group made the strenuous hike to the summit and back.

The hike took about six hours in total, to reach the top of the 10,064-foot mountain and back.  Mt. Baldy is the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains.

And just a week later, on May 10, six additional people will join the team for another trek to the top!
