Evergreen staffers take Ice Bucket Challenge after successful fundraiser
DIAMOND BAR, CA--Evergreen Elementary joined the popular Ice Bucket Challenge today after a hosting a successful school-wide fundraiser.
The educators promised to take a soaking if the school raised $30,000 during its annual Education Campaign.
Parent donations exceeded the challenge with donations totaling $39,200.
Today, they kept that promise.
One by one, eleven teachers and staff members got drenched in front of the cheering students.
Principal Carolyn Wills, who was the last in line, held up a tiny bucket hoping to avoid the soaking.
Not surprisingly, students gave that idea a unanimous- thumbs down!
Parent volunteers brought out the biggest bucket of icy water for the school leader.
“That icy waterfall just kept on coming, but it was all worth it! This was such a fun celebration to thank our school community! “ Wills said.
“Our parents have provided tremendous support and our students are the winners with enhanced programs. Kudos to Mrs. Wong, Mrs. Stanley, Mrs. Coomber, Mrs. Woken, Ms. Kobzeff, Mr. Li, Mrs. Kirkpatrick, Mrs. Morgan, Mr. Romero, and Mrs. Harms for being good sports and volunteering to get wet for Evergreen!”
