Diamond Bar High students brave spooktacular-haunted house
DIAMOND BAR, CA--About 130 Diamond Bar High students bravely entered a Halloween eve haunted house on October 30.
Pathway Communications Academy leadership students organized the five-minute pitch-black experience behind the theatre stage.
The sophomores, juniors, and seniors went into the scare house in groups of three.
Screams could be heard outside the theatre.
“It was great!” said Leila Johnson as she came out.
“I was in the front, so I had to navigate where to go and that was hard!” said sophomore Michael Rivera.
“We couldn’t see where we were going,” added senior Daniel Stelzriede.
“It was dark and I got lost,” said sophomore Aaron Cook.
After the fright-fest, students gathered inside the theatre for a balloon booty pop and scary movie trivia game.
Teacher Christian Calero heads up the annual fright fest.
“It was great seeing the big kids get so scared as they walked through!”
About 25 leadership students arrived at 6 a.m. to set the stage for the 9:15 a.m. event.
The DBHS Pathways Communications Academy is a school-within-a-school providing opportunities for success by incorporating interactive instruction and cooperative learning, applied learning, career guidance, and interpersonal relationships.
“I love being in Pathways. We’re all like a family and I think that’s probably the best part,” said junior Kayla Hull.
“All the sophomores, juniors, and seniors are all there for each other.”
