DBHS freshman wins congressional art contest
Diamond Bar High freshman Hailey Shi is the winner of the 2015 Congressional Art Competition in the 39th District. Hailey’s 1st place design “Flying with Hope” depicts children with disabilities drawing butterflies and having fun.
“I drew this to show that everyone can be happy and there’s a bright future for everyone!” the 15-year-old artist said. “Butterflies symbolize joy and transformation.”
Hailey will be recognized this summer in Washington D.C. and her art will be on display for one year in the U.S. Capitol.
