H2O TO GO

March 10, 2017

Diamond Bar, CA– A Diamond Bar High School AP Environmental Science class is looking to install a hydration station on campus.

“Students would be able to easily fill their reusable bottles with filtered water at a motion-sensor machine,” according to senior Esther Hong.

The effort is aimed toward promoting an easier, more sustainable way for students to access water every day.

The hydration station is essentially a water refill station.

In a survey of DBHS students and alumni, statistics showed that 82.4% of students do not use the current water fountains on a regular basis and 13.6% use them occasionally.

Implementing the changes would encourage the use of reusable bottles, reducing the school’s carbon footprint.

The class hopes to install the hydration station in April and is looking for businesses or individuals to sponsor the project.
