WALNUT, CA--Five WVUSD seniors are among 497 students in California chosen as 2017 U.S. Presidential Scholar Program candidates.
The honor, established in 1964, recognizes the country’s most distinguished seniors for superior academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character, and involvement in community and school activities.
A total of 4,000 candidates in the country were selected from nearly 3.5 million students set to graduate this spring.
Semifinalists will be announced in April; winners will be chosen in May and recognized with medals in Washington D.C.
Congratulations to Ameer Alameddin, Benjamin Y. Chen, and Sabrina Tseng – Diamond Bar High; Cynthia Lu and Inez Zung – Walnut High.
