Evergreen Elementary's Odyssey of the Mind Team won 1st place at the state competition held March 24 at UC Riverside and qualified to compete at the World Finals in Iowa in May. Students created a projector out of a flashlight and magnifying glass that projected words onto a screen, sewed a life-size emoji that opened up into a flower, and created their own version of the iPhone 9. 

Team members are Evan Auyeung, Ianna Lin, Reese Chen, Sarah Teng, Andrew Tsai, Audrey Doraton, and Rohan Chakrabortygupta. They are coached by Sam Lin and Rajesh Gupta.
