The vision of the Walnut Valley Teacher Induction Consortium is to foster the development of lifelong, reflective practitioners who continually seek opportunities for growth. With the support of qualified and trained mentors, candidates participate in research-based cycles of inquiry aligned with the California Standards for the Teaching Profession. New teachers explore best practices designed to meet the needs of diverse learners with a focus on individualized goals and student achievement. Teachers are supported while establishing and providing a safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environment that will enable all students to succeed.

Teacher Induction Program Overview and Admittance Requirements
Induction is a two year state sponsored program in which preliminary credential holders demonstrate efficacy and earn a clear credential. Qualified teachers must have a full time teaching position and possess a preliminary multiple subject, single subject or Level 1 credential. The Walnut Valley Consortium Induction Program provides on-going support and training for eligible teachers. Induction candidates are matched with a trained mentor within 30 days of being hired in a consortium district. Matches are based on credential, teaching assignment and whenever possible, site.
Teach Out Plan
Once a candidate is accepted into the Walnut Valley Consortium program, Induction will be offered until the candidate completes the program, withdraws from the program, is dropped from the program, based on established criteria, or is admitted to another approved program to complete the requirements, with minimal disruption, for the authorization. In the event the program closes, all candidates who are currently enrolled will continue in the program until they receive the authorization.

Induction candidates are matched with a mentor for 2 years who provide general support and specific guidance in completing the induction process. Teachers who are not employed by one of our partner consortium districts may still enroll in the Walnut Valley Induction program if room is available.
