Walnut Valley Unified School District Release, July 26, 2022
Legislation requiring virtual independent study for parents concerned for their student’s health and wellbeing (regarding Covid) expired on June 30, 2022. As such, the Walnut Valley Unified School District will not be offering an exclusively virtual learning option for the 2022-23 school year.
However, WVUSD will be offering a more traditional independent study option to our families in the 2022-23. WVUSD independent study students will still be receiving and submitting assignments to a digital source, and will have periodic check-ins with a credentialed teacher, but will not be receiving extended instruction online. Instead, students will work on their assignments independently.
Independent study is offered through the District’s alternative education school, Ron Hockwalt Academies. It is an option for families with students from grades K-12. For more information, please click the link below and note the contact information.
